Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.75 in (25 × 19 mm)	0.36 mm	431 mm	120	Too fine for most machines
2 × 1.5 in (51 × 38 mm)	0.71 mm	862 mm	35	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 2.24 in (76 × 57 mm)	1.1 mm	1,292 mm	12	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 2.99 in (102 × 76 mm)	1.4 mm	1,723 mm	6	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 4.49 in (152 × 114 mm)	2.1 mm	2,585 mm	2	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 5.98 in (203 × 152 mm)	2.8 mm	3,446 mm	1	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
12 × 8.98 in (305 × 228 mm)	4.3 mm	5,169 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
