Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.79 in (25 × 20 mm)	0.23 mm	368 mm	120	Too fine for most machines
2 × 1.57 in (51 × 40 mm)	0.46 mm	736 mm	30	Too fine for most machines
3 × 2.36 in (76 × 60 mm)	0.69 mm	1,104 mm	12	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
4 × 3.15 in (102 × 80 mm)	0.91 mm	1,472 mm	6	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
6 × 4.72 in (152 × 120 mm)	1.4 mm	2,208 mm	2	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 6.3 in (203 × 160 mm)	1.8 mm	2,944 mm	1	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
12 × 9.44 in (305 × 240 mm)	2.7 mm	4,417 mm	1	Vinyl, card and thin sheet

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
