Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.61 in (25 × 15 mm)	0.3 mm	263 mm	150	Too fine for most machines
2 × 1.21 in (51 × 31 mm)	0.61 mm	525 mm	40	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 1.82 in (76 × 46 mm)	0.91 mm	788 mm	18	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
4 × 2.42 in (102 × 62 mm)	1.2 mm	1,051 mm	8	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 3.64 in (152 × 92 mm)	1.8 mm	1,576 mm	3	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 4.85 in (203 × 123 mm)	2.4 mm	2,101 mm	2	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
12 × 7.27 in (305 × 185 mm)	3.7 mm	3,152 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
