Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.63 in (25 × 16 mm) | 0.58 mm | 570 mm | 140 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2 × 1.25 in (51 × 32 mm) | 1.2 mm | 1,140 mm | 40 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 1.88 in (76 × 48 mm) | 1.8 mm | 1,711 mm | 15 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 2.51 in (102 × 64 mm) | 2.3 mm | 2,281 mm | 8 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 6 × 3.76 in (152 × 96 mm) | 3.5 mm | 3,421 mm | 3 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 5.02 in (203 × 127 mm) | 4.7 mm | 4,562 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 7.52 in (305 × 191 mm) | 7 mm | 6,843 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
