Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.35 in (25 × 9 mm)	1.2 mm	143 mm	220	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
2 × 0.7 in (51 × 18 mm)	2.3 mm	287 mm	65	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
3 × 1.05 in (76 × 27 mm)	3.5 mm	430 mm	27	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
4 × 1.4 in (102 × 35 mm)	4.7 mm	573 mm	14	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
6 × 2.09 in (152 × 53 mm)	7 mm	860 mm	5	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
8 × 2.79 in (203 × 71 mm)	9.3 mm	1,146 mm	4	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 4.19 in (305 × 106 mm)	14 mm	1,719 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
