Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.26 in (25 × 7 mm)	0.38 mm	226 mm	260	Too fine for most machines
2 × 0.52 in (51 × 13 mm)	0.76 mm	453 mm	80	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 0.79 in (76 × 20 mm)	1.1 mm	679 mm	36	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 1.05 in (102 × 27 mm)	1.5 mm	905 mm	18	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 1.57 in (152 × 40 mm)	2.3 mm	1,358 mm	6	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 2.1 in (203 × 53 mm)	3 mm	1,811 mm	5	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 3.14 in (305 × 80 mm)	4.6 mm	2,716 mm	3	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
