Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.98 in (25 × 25 mm) | 0.36 mm | 562 mm | 100 | Too fine for most machines |
| 2 × 1.96 in (51 × 50 mm) | 0.71 mm | 1,124 mm | 25 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 3 × 2.94 in (76 × 75 mm) | 1.1 mm | 1,686 mm | 9 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 3.92 in (102 × 100 mm) | 1.4 mm | 2,248 mm | 4 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 6 × 5.89 in (152 × 150 mm) | 2.1 mm | 3,373 mm | 2 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 8 × 7.85 in (203 × 199 mm) | 2.8 mm | 4,497 mm | 1 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 12 × 11.77 in (305 × 299 mm) | 4.3 mm | 6,745 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
