Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.74 in (25 × 19 mm)	0.43 mm	347 mm	130	Too fine for most machines
2 × 1.47 in (51 × 37 mm)	0.86 mm	694 mm	35	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 2.21 in (76 × 56 mm)	1.3 mm	1,041 mm	15	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 2.95 in (102 × 75 mm)	1.7 mm	1,388 mm	6	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 4.42 in (152 × 112 mm)	2.6 mm	2,082 mm	2	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 5.9 in (203 × 150 mm)	3.5 mm	2,776 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 8.84 in (305 × 225 mm)	5.2 mm	4,164 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
