Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.93 in (25 × 24 mm)	0.86 mm	216 mm	100	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
2 × 1.87 in (51 × 47 mm)	1.7 mm	432 mm	25	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
3 × 2.8 in (76 × 71 mm)	2.6 mm	648 mm	12	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 3.74 in (102 × 95 mm)	3.5 mm	865 mm	6	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
6 × 5.6 in (152 × 142 mm)	5.2 mm	1,297 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

12 × 11.21 in (305 × 285 mm)	10 mm	2,594 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
