Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.58 in (25 × 15 mm) | 0.64 mm | 163 mm | 150 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2 × 1.16 in (51 × 29 mm) | 1.3 mm | 326 mm | 45 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 1.73 in (76 × 44 mm) | 1.9 mm | 488 mm | 18 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 2.31 in (102 × 59 mm) | 2.5 mm | 651 mm | 8 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 6 × 3.47 in (152 × 88 mm) | 3.8 mm | 977 mm | 3 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 4.62 in (203 × 117 mm) | 5.1 mm | 1,303 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 6.94 in (305 × 176 mm) | 7.6 mm | 1,954 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
