Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
0.83 × 1 in (21 × 25 mm)	0.3 mm	301 mm	110	Too fine for most machines
1.66 × 2 in (42 × 51 mm)	0.61 mm	602 mm	30	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
2.49 × 3 in (63 × 76 mm)	0.91 mm	903 mm	12	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3.32 × 4 in (84 × 102 mm)	1.2 mm	1,204 mm	6	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4.98 × 6 in (126 × 152 mm)	1.8 mm	1,806 mm	2	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6.64 × 8 in (169 × 203 mm)	2.4 mm	2,408 mm	1	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
9.96 × 12 in (253 × 305 mm)	3.7 mm	3,612 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
