Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.62 in (25 × 16 mm) | 0.64 mm | 534 mm | 140 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2 × 1.24 in (51 × 31 mm) | 1.3 mm | 1,068 mm | 40 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 1.85 in (76 × 47 mm) | 1.9 mm | 1,602 mm | 15 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 2.47 in (102 × 63 mm) | 2.5 mm | 2,137 mm | 8 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 6 × 3.71 in (152 × 94 mm) | 3.8 mm | 3,205 mm | 3 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 4.94 in (203 × 126 mm) | 5.1 mm | 4,273 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 7.42 in (305 × 188 mm) | 7.6 mm | 6,410 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
