Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.9 in (25 × 23 mm) | 0.86 mm | 463 mm | 110 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2 × 1.8 in (51 × 46 mm) | 1.7 mm | 927 mm | 30 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 2.7 in (76 × 69 mm) | 2.6 mm | 1,390 mm | 12 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 3.6 in (102 × 91 mm) | 3.5 mm | 1,853 mm | 6 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6 × 5.39 in (152 × 137 mm) | 5.2 mm | 2,780 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 7.19 in (203 × 183 mm) | 6.9 mm | 3,706 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 10.79 in (305 × 274 mm) | 10 mm | 5,560 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
