Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.26 in (25 × 7 mm) | 1.2 mm | 121 mm | 260 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 2 × 0.52 in (51 × 13 mm) | 2.3 mm | 242 mm | 80 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 0.78 in (76 × 20 mm) | 3.5 mm | 363 mm | 36 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 4 × 1.04 in (102 × 26 mm) | 4.7 mm | 484 mm | 18 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6 × 1.56 in (152 × 40 mm) | 7 mm | 725 mm | 6 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 2.08 in (203 × 53 mm) | 9.3 mm | 967 mm | 5 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 3.12 in (305 × 79 mm) | 14 mm | 1,451 mm | 3 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
