“New Year Crew” set in Pacifico, a bold brush script, on 2 centred lines. The letters of each word join, as handwriting does, so a word comes off the mat in one piece apart from any dots.

Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.55 in (25 × 14 mm) | 0.41 mm | 195 mm | 160 | Too fine for most machines |
| 2 × 1.11 in (51 × 28 mm) | 0.81 mm | 391 mm | 45 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 3 × 1.66 in (76 × 42 mm) | 1.2 mm | 586 mm | 18 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 2.21 in (102 × 56 mm) | 1.6 mm | 781 mm | 10 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 6 × 3.32 in (152 × 84 mm) | 2.4 mm | 1,172 mm | 3 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 8 × 4.42 in (203 × 112 mm) | 3.3 mm | 1,563 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 6.64 in (305 × 169 mm) | 4.9 mm | 2,344 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
