Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.8 in (25 × 20 mm) | 0.81 mm | 594 mm | 120 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2 × 1.6 in (51 × 41 mm) | 1.6 mm | 1,188 mm | 30 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 2.39 in (76 × 61 mm) | 2.4 mm | 1,782 mm | 12 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 3.19 in (102 × 81 mm) | 3.3 mm | 2,375 mm | 6 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6 × 4.79 in (152 × 122 mm) | 4.9 mm | 3,563 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 6.38 in (203 × 162 mm) | 6.5 mm | 4,751 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 9.58 in (305 × 243 mm) | 9.8 mm | 7,126 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
