Letter C in Abril Fatface SVG
The capital C of Abril Fatface, a heavy display serif with fine hairlines, as one welded shape 100 mm tall. This C has no closed counter, so it also works as a stencil as it is. The hairlines are thickened a little so that they survive cutting.

Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.81 × 1 in (21 × 25 mm) | 0.91 mm | 125 mm | 120 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 1.63 × 2 in (41 × 51 mm) | 1.8 mm | 249 mm | 30 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 2.44 × 3 in (62 × 76 mm) | 2.7 mm | 374 mm | 12 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3.26 × 4 in (83 × 102 mm) | 3.7 mm | 499 mm | 6 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 4.88 × 6 in (124 × 152 mm) | 5.5 mm | 748 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6.51 × 8 in (165 × 203 mm) | 7.3 mm | 998 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 9.77 × 12 in (248 × 305 mm) | 11 mm | 1,497 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
