Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.99 in (25 × 25 mm) | Over 1.5 mm | 298 mm | 100 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 2 × 1.99 in (51 × 50 mm) | Over 3 mm | 595 mm | 25 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 3 × 2.98 in (76 × 76 mm) | Over 4.6 mm | 893 mm | 9 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 4 × 3.97 in (102 × 101 mm) | Over 6.1 mm | 1,191 mm | 4 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6 × 5.96 in (152 × 151 mm) | Over 9.1 mm | 1,786 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 7.94 in (203 × 202 mm) | Over 12 mm | 2,382 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 11.92 in (305 × 303 mm) | Over 18 mm | 3,572 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
