Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.65 in (25 × 17 mm) | 1 mm | 462 mm | 140 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 2 × 1.31 in (51 × 33 mm) | 2.1 mm | 925 mm | 40 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 1.96 in (76 × 50 mm) | 3.1 mm | 1,387 mm | 15 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 4 × 2.62 in (102 × 66 mm) | 4.2 mm | 1,849 mm | 8 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6 × 3.92 in (152 × 100 mm) | 6.2 mm | 2,774 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 5.23 in (203 × 133 mm) | 8.3 mm | 3,698 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 7.85 in (305 × 199 mm) | 12 mm | 5,547 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
