Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.9 × 1 in (23 × 25 mm) | 0.3 mm | 642 mm | 110 | Too fine for most machines |
| 1.81 × 2 in (46 × 51 mm) | 0.61 mm | 1,284 mm | 30 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2.71 × 3 in (69 × 76 mm) | 0.91 mm | 1,926 mm | 12 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 3.62 × 4 in (92 × 102 mm) | 1.2 mm | 2,567 mm | 6 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 5.42 × 6 in (138 × 152 mm) | 1.8 mm | 3,851 mm | 2 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 7.23 × 8 in (184 × 203 mm) | 2.4 mm | 5,135 mm | 1 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 10.85 × 12 in (276 × 305 mm) | 3.7 mm | 7,702 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
