Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.44 in (25 × 11 mm)	0.61 mm	242 mm	180	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
2 × 0.89 in (51 × 23 mm)	1.2 mm	485 mm	55	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
3 × 1.33 in (76 × 34 mm)	1.8 mm	727 mm	21	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 1.78 in (102 × 45 mm)	2.4 mm	969 mm	12	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 2.66 in (152 × 68 mm)	3.7 mm	1,454 mm	4	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
8 × 3.55 in (203 × 90 mm)	4.9 mm	1,939 mm	3	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 5.33 in (305 × 135 mm)	7.3 mm	2,908 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
