Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.5 in (25 × 13 mm)	0.36 mm	352 mm	170	Too fine for most machines
2 × 0.99 in (51 × 25 mm)	0.71 mm	703 mm	50	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 1.49 in (76 × 38 mm)	1.1 mm	1,055 mm	21	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 1.98 in (102 × 50 mm)	1.4 mm	1,406 mm	10	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 2.98 in (152 × 76 mm)	2.1 mm	2,109 mm	3	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 3.97 in (203 × 101 mm)	2.8 mm	2,812 mm	2	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
12 × 5.95 in (305 × 151 mm)	4.3 mm	4,218 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
