Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.73 in (25 × 19 mm) | Over 1.5 mm | 160 mm | 130 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 2 × 1.46 in (51 × 37 mm) | Over 3 mm | 319 mm | 35 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 3 × 2.19 in (76 × 56 mm) | Over 4.6 mm | 479 mm | 15 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 4 × 2.92 in (102 × 74 mm) | Over 6.1 mm | 638 mm | 6 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6 × 4.39 in (152 × 111 mm) | Over 9.1 mm | 957 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 5.85 in (203 × 149 mm) | Over 12 mm | 1,276 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 8.77 in (305 × 223 mm) | Over 18 mm | 1,914 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
