“Every Family Has a Story Welcome to Ours” set in Amatic SC, narrow hand-drawn capitals, on 3 centred lines. Tall, thin and slightly uneven, like lettering on a chalkboard; the strokes are thickened so they cut.

Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.67 in (25 × 17 mm) | 0.18 mm | 470 mm | 140 | Too fine for most machines |
| 2 × 1.34 in (51 × 34 mm) | 0.36 mm | 940 mm | 35 | Too fine for most machines |
| 3 × 2.01 in (76 × 51 mm) | 0.53 mm | 1,410 mm | 15 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 4 × 2.68 in (102 × 68 mm) | 0.71 mm | 1,880 mm | 8 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 6 × 4.03 in (152 × 102 mm) | 1.1 mm | 2,819 mm | 2 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 8 × 5.37 in (203 × 136 mm) | 1.4 mm | 3,759 mm | 2 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 12 × 8.05 in (305 × 205 mm) | 2.1 mm | 5,639 mm | 1 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
