Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.41 in (25 × 11 mm)	0.53 mm	230 mm	190	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
2 × 0.83 in (51 × 21 mm)	1.1 mm	460 mm	55	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
3 × 1.24 in (76 × 32 mm)	1.6 mm	690 mm	24	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 1.66 in (102 × 42 mm)	2.1 mm	919 mm	12	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 2.48 in (152 × 63 mm)	3.2 mm	1,379 mm	4	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
8 × 3.31 in (203 × 84 mm)	4.3 mm	1,839 mm	3	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 4.97 in (305 × 126 mm)	6.4 mm	2,758 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
