Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.58 in (25 × 15 mm)	0.25 mm	255 mm	150	Too fine for most machines
2 × 1.16 in (51 × 29 mm)	0.51 mm	510 mm	40	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 1.74 in (76 × 44 mm)	0.76 mm	764 mm	18	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
4 × 2.32 in (102 × 59 mm)	1 mm	1,019 mm	8	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 3.47 in (152 × 88 mm)	1.5 mm	1,529 mm	3	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 4.63 in (203 × 118 mm)	2 mm	2,038 mm	2	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
12 × 6.95 in (305 × 176 mm)	3 mm	3,057 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
