Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.82 in (25 × 21 mm)	0.33 mm	362 mm	120	Too fine for most machines
2 × 1.63 in (51 × 42 mm)	0.66 mm	724 mm	30	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 2.45 in (76 × 62 mm)	0.99 mm	1,087 mm	12	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
4 × 3.27 in (102 × 83 mm)	1.3 mm	1,449 mm	6	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 4.9 in (152 × 125 mm)	2 mm	2,173 mm	2	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 6.54 in (203 × 166 mm)	2.6 mm	2,898 mm	1	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
12 × 9.8 in (305 × 249 mm)	4 mm	4,346 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
