Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.76 in (25 × 19 mm)	0.56 mm	249 mm	120	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
2 × 1.52 in (51 × 39 mm)	1.1 mm	498 mm	35	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
3 × 2.28 in (76 × 58 mm)	1.7 mm	747 mm	12	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 3.04 in (102 × 77 mm)	2.2 mm	996 mm	6	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 4.57 in (152 × 116 mm)	3.4 mm	1,494 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
8 × 6.09 in (203 × 155 mm)	4.5 mm	1,991 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 9.13 in (305 × 232 mm)	6.7 mm	2,987 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
