Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.99 in (25 × 25 mm) | 1.5 mm | 511 mm | 100 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 2 × 1.97 in (51 × 50 mm) | 3 mm | 1,022 mm | 25 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 3 × 2.96 in (76 × 75 mm) | 4.6 mm | 1,532 mm | 9 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 4 × 3.94 in (102 × 100 mm) | 6.1 mm | 2,043 mm | 4 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6 × 5.92 in (152 × 150 mm) | 9.1 mm | 3,065 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 7.89 in (203 × 200 mm) | 12 mm | 4,086 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 11.83 in (305 × 301 mm) | 18 mm | 6,130 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
