“After Every” in Pacifico script over “STORM COMES A RAINBOW” in narrow capitals, the two lines made the same width. Mixing a script with capitals is the classic sign-painter’s pairing.

Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.8 in (25 × 20 mm) | 0.28 mm | 554 mm | 120 | Too fine for most machines |
| 2 × 1.59 in (51 × 40 mm) | 0.56 mm | 1,107 mm | 30 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 3 × 2.39 in (76 × 61 mm) | 0.84 mm | 1,661 mm | 12 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 4 × 3.19 in (102 × 81 mm) | 1.1 mm | 2,215 mm | 6 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 6 × 4.78 in (152 × 121 mm) | 1.7 mm | 3,322 mm | 2 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 8 × 6.38 in (203 × 162 mm) | 2.2 mm | 4,430 mm | 1 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 12 × 9.56 in (305 × 243 mm) | 3.4 mm | 6,645 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
